Mathira Speaks Out Against Unrealistic Expectations for Women in Pakistani Entertainment

Model, actress, and TV host Mathira recently spoke out against the unrealistic beauty standards and body shaming prevalent in Pakistan. In a candid podcast interview, she addressed various social issues, including the harsh comments directed at overweight individuals.

Mathira emphasized that Pakistan is unique in its obsession with fair-skinned heroines who are expected to have tiny waists and a size zero figure. She highlighted that every person’s body is different and that being critical of someone’s weight is unnecessary and harmful.

The actress pointed out that women, in particular, face numerous weight-related challenges due to hormonal fluctuations and menstrual cycles. She criticized the tendency of some TV personalities to show pictures of individuals and comment on their weight, urging people to be more understanding of the complexities involved.

Mathira also stressed that a weight of 100 kg can be normal for some people and that body shaming should be avoided. She encouraged both men and women to focus on their careers rather than worrying about their weight or succumbing to societal pressures.

Specifically addressing young men, Mathira advised them to prioritize their careers before thinking about marriage. She argued that achieving career success would enable them to provide better for their future families.

The actress lamented that many young people in Pakistan prioritize marriage over career development. She urged them to rethink their goals and focus on building a stable and successful future first.
