Waqar Hussain Reveals How Stars’ Attitudes Are Affecting Veteran Makeup Artists

Waqar Hussain, a prominent figure in the Pakistani entertainment and fashion industry, has raised concerns about the evolving dynamics between celebrities and makeup artists. Known for his versatility as an actor and as a renowned makeup artist, Waqar has made significant contributions to dramas, films, advertisements, and theater. His work, especially in popular dramas like “Qudusi Sahab Ki Bewa,” remains iconic in the industry.

During a recent appearance on the show “Fahad’s Den,” Waqar Hussain candidly discussed the changing landscape of the entertainment industry and how the attitudes of stars are impacting veteran makeup artists. He expressed concerns over the growing trend where established actors no longer work with seasoned makeup artists.

“Older stars didn’t have an issue with how their makeup was done,” Waqar remarked. “Nowadays, stars have their own teams and don’t work with any other artist. They aren’t giving chances to new people, and as a result, new talent isn’t getting promoted.”

Waqar pointed out that many veteran makeup artists are noticeably absent from current projects. He attributed this trend to a shift in the industry’s culture, where the exclusivity and insular nature of stars’ teams have left little room for external professionals, including experienced makeup artists.

He further highlighted that many seasoned professionals from the beauty industry have transitioned away from working on sets. Instead, they now focus on running their own salons or other ventures. “The negativity on sets is a basic factor,” Waqar explained. “People just don’t want to go through that anymore, which is why many of our senior artists prefer to stay at home.”

Waqar Hussain’s observations shed light on a growing concern in the entertainment world, where the restrictive practices of celebrity teams may be stifling creativity and limiting opportunities for both established and emerging makeup artists. As the industry continues to evolve, it remains to be seen how these dynamics will impact the future of on-set artistry in Pakistan.
