Malaika and Amrita Arora’s Father, Anil Arora, Dies by Suicide
In a tragic incident, Anil Arora, father of Bollywood actresses Malaika Arora and Amrita Arora, has passed away, reportedly by suicide. According to Indian media, Anil allegedly jumped off the terrace of a building, leading to his death.
An Indian news agency reported: “Father of actress-model Malaika Arora died by suicide by jumping off a terrace. Police team is present at the spot: Mumbai Police.” While official confirmation is awaited, the incident has left the family and fans in shock.
Following the devastating news, Malaika’s ex-husband, Arbaaz Khan, was seen arriving at her house on Wednesday morning to offer support.
Anil Arora is survived by his daughters, Malaika and Amrita, and his ex-wife, Joyce Polycarp. Anil and Joyce separated when their daughters were young, with Joyce moving to Chembur with the children. Malaika and Amrita’s father, Anil, was a Punjabi Hindu from Fazilka and had worked in the Indian Merchant Navy, while their mother, Joyce, is a Malayali Christian.
Malaika, who was married to actor-producer Arbaaz Khan from 1998 until their separation in 2016, shares a 21-year-old son, Arhaan Khan, with him. Meanwhile, Amrita has been married to businessman Shakeel Ladak since 2009 and shares two sons with him.
