Kubra Khan Reveals Why She Chose to Star in “Noor Jahan” Despite Initial Doubts

Gorgeous and talented Pakistani actress Kubra Khan, known for her careful selection of unique roles, recently opened up about her decision to sign on for the drama Noor Jahan. During her UK tour for Palestine fundraising, Kubra shared insights into what led her to take on a project that initially seemed like a typical story.

Kubra admitted that when she was first pitched the character of Noor Bano, she thought Noor Jahan would be a conventional drama, centered around the usual saas-bahu dynamics. However, after reading the full script, her perspective shifted.

“I initially thought Noor Jahan was a very typical show and not something I would do,” Kubra revealed. “But after reading the story, I realized it wasn’t about saas-bahu toxicity. It talks about generational traumas, and Noor Bano is the one who finally breaks those cycles.”

This deeper narrative of overcoming inherited traumas inspired Kubra to take on the role, marking a departure from the typical family dramas. She added that the opportunity to portray a character like Noor Bano, who brings change and healing, was one she couldn’t pass up.

Kubra is known for taking on roles with meaningful and impactful stories. Some of her most notable dramas include Ali Allah Aur Insan, Sang-e-Mah, Sang-e-Mar Mar, and Jannat Se Aagay. However, by choosing Noor Jahan, she embraced a project that, at first glance, appeared to be a conventional saas-bahu story, but turned out to be much more profound.

Kubra’s decision to take on Noor Jahan continues her trend of delivering powerful performances that leave a lasting impression on audiences.
