Bollywood star Hrithik Roshan recently opened up about an emotional experience on the set of Koi Mil Gaya, revealing that veteran actress Rekha slapped him during a pivotal scene, leaving him in tears.
In an interview, Hrithik recounted how Rekha’s dedication to her craft took him by surprise, creating an unforgettable moment in his acting career. The scene in question involved Rekha portraying Hrithik’s mother, delivering a series of forceful slaps to his character, Rohit.
Hrithik admitted that he had mistakenly prepared for a different scene that day, which caught him off guard when he realized the intensity of Rekha’s performance. When she told him she would slap him for real to enhance the authenticity of the scene, Hrithik initially thought she was joking.
However, as the cameras began to roll, Rekha delivered a powerful slap that took him completely by surprise. “The emotions I felt after the slap were real,” Hrithik confessed, acknowledging that he had no choice but to cry during the scene.
Adding to the pressure, Hrithik mentioned that his father, Rakesh Roshan, who directed the film, would never cancel a shoot. This meant that Hrithik had to carry on with the scene despite the unexpected turn of events, turning a moment of surprise into a profound emotional experience.
