Munawar Faruqui Faces Threats from Bishnoi Gang, Mumbai Police Increase Security
Munawar Faruqui, comedian and winner of Bigg Boss 17, is reportedly under threat from the notorious Bishnoi gang, prompting Mumbai Police to implement heightened security measures for his protection. Faruqui, who also hosts Playground season 4, has been provided with enhanced security following concerns for his safety.
A senior police official confirmed on Monday, “We have provided him protection,” though the source of the threats has not been officially linked to any specific group. However, growing speculation points toward the Bishnoi gang as the potential source.
The heightened security comes after a previous incident in September when Faruqui was scheduled to attend an event in Delhi. Intelligence received by the Delhi Police’s Special Cell suggested a possible attack, prompting authorities to remove him from the event and return him safely to Mumbai under police escort.
Further investigations revealed that the threat surfaced during a probe into the murder of Delhi businessman Nadir Shah. An arrested shooter reportedly confessed to surveilling a hotel where Munawar was staying for a cricket match with fellow social media personality Elvish Yadav.
In light of these developments, Mumbai Police are remaining vigilant, ensuring that Faruqui is well-protected as concerns for his safety continue to grow.
