Shraddha Kapoor Addresses ‘Stree 2’ Credit War, Teases Third Installment
Bollywood star Shraddha Kapoor has finally spoken up about the ongoing credit dispute surrounding Stree 2 while confirming that work on the third installment of the hit franchise is already underway.
In a recent public appearance, Kapoor shared her thoughts on the massive success of Stree 2 and praised the team behind the film. “The love and accolades the first part received were immense. It all started there. Hats off to the director, writer, and producer for cracking a sequel,” she stated.
Addressing the key to the film’s success, Shraddha emphasized that it wasn’t just about making a sequel for the sake of it, but about delivering something meaningful. “You need substance to bring people to theatres and earn genuine appreciation. They stayed true to how a sequel should be made and cracked the story of Stree 2,” she explained.
Kapoor highlighted that the film’s strong Box Office performance and critical acclaim were the result of a team effort. “It had all the entertainment factors—brilliant actors and really entertaining dialogues. I believe it was a fabulous team effort. Ultimately, the audience decides, right? They leave their homes seeking entertainment and we’re happy we could deliver.”
Her comments subtly addressed the ongoing debate about who deserves credit for the film’s success, acknowledging the collective effort involved.
Kapoor also expressed her excitement about Stree 3, hinting that she is eager to hear the story from the director soon.
Stree 2, released on Indian Independence Day, has earned an impressive INR 875 crores globally against a modest budget of INR 50 crores, solidifying its position as the No.1 Bollywood film of all time in India.
Directed by Amar Kaushik, the horror-comedy stars Rajkummar Rao, Pankaj Tripathi, Aparshakti Khurana, and Abhishek Banerjee, alongside Kapoor. Special appearances by Akshay Kumar, Varun Dhawan, and Tamannaah Bhatia also added to the film’s appeal.
With Stree 3 already in the works, fans are eagerly waiting to see what the next chapter in this hit franchise will bring.
