Sohai Ali Abro Opens Up About Returning to Acting After Hiatus and the Impact of Motherhood

Sohai Ali Abro, a beloved name in the Pakistani entertainment industry, recently sat down with Vasay Chaudhry on Gup Shab to share her thoughts on returning to the screen after taking a significant break. Best known for her roles in popular films like Wrong No and Jawani Phir Nahi Ani, the actress had been out of the public eye for a few years, focusing on her personal life, which included marrying cricketer Shehzar Mohammad and welcoming their daughter in 2022.

Reflecting on this hiatus, Sohai admitted, “I felt like I had forgotten how to act because for three to four years I was completely isolated and had no connection to the art.” She candidly spoke about the nerves she felt before filming her first scene post-break, confessing her anxiety about stepping back into the world of acting after such a long pause. However, returning to the set proved to be a transformative moment for the actress. “When I walked onto set, I felt like I had been here the entire time,” she shared.

Sohai also delved into how motherhood shifted her perspective on her career. “I thought I would probably not even want to act again because when you become a mother, all your priorities shift and everything changes,” she explained. While she personally didn’t feel a significant change in her approach to acting, those around her noticed a difference. She recalled how director Nadeem Baig pointed out a newfound “calmness” in her after marriage and motherhood. “After a scene, I went up to him and asked if it was okay, and he said that I have calmness in me after marriage and a baby,” Sohai revealed, admitting that his observation surprised her.

Despite these subtle changes, Sohai insisted that her core personality remains the same. “I haven’t noticed this myself, but people around me will be able to tell me if it’s true. All my wackiness and energy are still very much there,” she said with a smile.

Fans are eager to see what’s next for Sohai as she steps back into the spotlight, balancing her personal and professional life with her signature enthusiasm.
