Bollywood Star Govinda Rushed to Hospital After Accidental Gunshot Injury
In a shocking incident, Bollywood actor and former Member of Parliament, Govinda, was rushed to the hospital early Tuesday morning after sustaining an injury from an accidental gunshot at his residence in Juhu, Mumbai.
According to reports from Indian media, the incident occurred while the actor was cleaning his licensed revolver before preparing to leave for an event in Kolkata. The weapon allegedly slipped from his hands, causing a bullet to fire and graze his leg below the knee.
Govinda was immediately taken to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at CritiCare Asia Hospital in Andheri West, where he received prompt medical attention. Hospital sources later confirmed that the actor is out of danger but will remain under observation for further treatment.
The Juhu Police have registered the incident and initiated an investigation. An official statement noted, “Prima facie, the incident appears to be accidental.”
In a heartfelt audio message from the hospital, Govinda shared an update on his health, saying, “With the blessings of you all and my parents, the bullet has been removed. I thank the doctors and you for keeping me in your prayers.”
