ATC Orders Return of Khalilur Rehman Qamar’s Belongings in Honey Trap Case

The Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) on Tuesday directed the police to return the belongings of renowned scriptwriter Khalilur Rehman Qamar, who was involved in a honey trap-blackmailing case. The court ordered the return of his vehicle’s registration book and Rs240,000, which were recovered from the suspects.

Qamar, who is best known for his work in Pakistani dramas, claimed that he was abducted and robbed in Lahore on July 22. Shortly after, Lahore police busted a 12-member gang, including the prime female suspect, Amna Urooj, who had allegedly kidnapped and robbed the scriptwriter.

In September, Khalilur Rehman Qamar filed an application for the return of his belongings. ATC Judge Arshad Javed ruled in his favor, instructing the police to hand back the recovered items.

Earlier, on September 4, the ATC in Lahore rejected the bail plea of Amna Urooj, the prime suspect in the case. Urooj remains in judicial custody, while Hassan Shah, the mastermind behind the honey trap operation, was arrested alongside accomplice Rafique in Peshawar.

The gang, consisting of 12 members, including women, is alleged to have carried out the kidnapping and blackmailing scheme targeting Khalilur Rehman Qamar.
