‘Mirzapur’ Fans Rejoice as Makers Announce ‘Mirzapur The Film’ Featuring Munna Tripathi
Mumbai – Following the success of Mirzapur Season 3, fans of the popular Indian crime series have more to look forward to as Excel Entertainment officially announced Mirzapur The Film. The highly anticipated movie adaptation will bring back beloved characters, including Divyendu Sharma as the fan-favorite Munna Tripathi, alongside Pankaj Tripathi (Kaleen Bhaiya), Ali Fazal (Guddu Pandit), and Abhishek Banerjee (Compounder).
In a social media post on Monday, Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani’s Excel Entertainment shared a teaser for the film with the caption, “Ab bhaukaal bhi bada hoga, aur parda bhi. Mirzapur The Film, coming soon.” The brief, minute-and-a-half-long clip has already garnered significant excitement from fans eager to see the return of Mirzapur’s gritty, violent world.
Directed by Gurmeet Singh and penned by series creator Puneet Krishna, Mirzapur The Film is set to hit theaters in 2026. After an eight-week exclusive run in cinemas, the film will be available for streaming on Amazon Prime Video in over 240 countries and territories, allowing fans worldwide to tune in.
Mirzapur, Amazon Prime’s original crime thriller, first premiered in November 2018. Created by Karan Anshuman and Puneet Krishna, the series chronicles the life of crime lord Akhandanand “Kaleen” Tripathi, who rules the Mirzapur district in Uttar Pradesh. With each season delving deeper into power, revenge, and the dark underbelly of small-town politics, the series has captivated viewers globally.
The most recent Season 3, which debuted in July this year and was followed by a bonus episode, left fans on a cliffhanger, intensifying the anticipation for what lies ahead in the upcoming film adaptation.
