Firdous Jamal denies rumours of divorce from wife

Veteran Pakistani actor Firdous Jamal has denied recent rumours of divorce from his wife after 35 years of marriage, dismissing the claims as unfounded.

The actor’s son, Hamza Firdous, had recently stated in a video that his mother had taken ‘khula’ (divorce) from Firdous Jamal, adding that the family relationship had been strained for some time.

In a recent interview circulating on social media, Firdous Jamal responded to these statements, categorically denying any divorce. “There is no truth to these claims. My wife has not taken any ‘khula,’ and these are just rumours,” Jamal stated.

He emphasized that, at his age, he values peace and family and would not seek separation. “My children are grown, and I am now a grandfather. Why would I get divorced at this stage in my life?” he questioned.

When asked about his family, he confirmed he is in regular contact with his sons and that they understand his choice to live separately for personal peace.

This is consistent with his earlier remarks about preferring a quiet life since being diagnosed with cancer, as he shared in an earlier interview. He expressed that after a life of noise and hustle, he now seeks solitude.

Firdous Jamal’s illustrious career includes countless roles in both television dramas and films, solidifying his status as one of Pakistan’s most respected actors.
