Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar Seeks Return of Belongings in Honey Trap-Blackmail Case

Renowned Pakistani scriptwriter Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar has filed an application in the Anti-Terrorism Court seeking the return of his belongings related to the ongoing honey trap-blackmail case. The application was heard by Judge Arshad Javed, who issued a notice to the prosecution for a response by September 28.

In his application, Qamar stated that police had recovered Rs 240,000 and the registration book of his car from the accused. “The accused had withdrawn money from my bank using my ATM. I request that my money and the car’s registration book be returned to me,” he emphasized.

Currently, Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar, along with the main accused Amna Arooj and co-accused Hassan Shah and Rafiq alias Feki, are in jail on judicial remand in connection with the honey trap and kidnapping for ransom case.

The incident reportedly unfolded on July 15, 2024, when Qamar was allegedly abducted in Lahore. After being released following a ransom payment, he reported the incident to the police on July 21. Qamar had been invited to Amna Arooj’s home under the pretense of discussing a drama project, but his lawyer claims he was abducted by armed men.

Contrarily, Amna Arooj’s lawyer contends that Qamar’s manager initially contacted her under the guise of professional interest. Allegations have surfaced that Qamar suggested helping Amna advance in her career, but only if she met his personal demands.

The lawyer further revealed that incriminating communications are reportedly available on a mobile phone accessed by police officials, including DIG, DSP, and Investigation Officer Imran Yousuf. It is alleged that Qamar insisted on another meeting, arriving intoxicated and pressuring Amna for a physical relationship while threatening to leak compromising photos if she refused.

Hasan Shah, identified as the alleged mastermind, reportedly kidnapped both Amna and Qamar during this ordeal. Amna later accused the police of torture, claiming they forced her to falsely label the incident as a honey trap. As the case continues to unfold, significant developments are anticipated.
